The Board of Health meets the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Health office unless otherwise posted at the office of the Town Clerk. Please call to verify.
General Responsibilities and Duties
The Board of Health is a three member board, elected by the residents of the Town. The Board of Health is to educate, promote, improve and protect the health and well being of the citizens of Southampton, while contributing to building a healthy community and environment.
The Board of Health is responsible for overseeing food inspections, waste disposal issues, tobacco control, issuance of licenses and animal control. The Board also enforces state regulations regarding Title V, septic systems, perc tests, rabies clinic and flu clinic seasonal.
