Conservation in Southampton

Stewardship Fund

The Conservation Commission of the Town of Southampton has set up a Stewardship Fund to enable residents to contribute to the development, restoration and maintenance of conservation land in Southampton.

Two projects are in progress.

A restoration project has been initiated to clear the trails, improve the signs and parking in the 52 acre Manhan Meadows Sanctuary between East Street and Brickyard Road Extension.

The recent success of getting a LAND Grant from the Commonwealth to establish a Conservation Restriction for the 200 acre Wolf Hill Sanctuary has led to the need for signs, fencing, and the development of the parking area and trail.

Much of the labor needed for these tasks will be furnished by volunteers. However, the cost of trail, the parking area materials, signs, and fencing will have to be funded from other sources.

If you are interested in making a tax deductible contributing to this effort please contact the Administration Office at the Town Hall or the Conservation Commission at the address or email abbove.
