The Board of Assessors is a three member, elected Board, which is required by Massachusetts law to list and value all real and personal property. The Assessors' primary responsibility is to find the "full and fair cash value" of all real and personal property, so that everyone pays their fair share of taxes.
The Assessors' Office maintains records of motor vehicle excise tax files. Applications for deferrals, exemptions and abatement requests for real property, personal property, and motor vehicle excise taxes can be obtained from and should be filed with the Assessors' Office on a timely basis.
